Life Education Australia

About the campaign

For nearly 50 years Life Education Australia has been helping children make choices that lead to safer and healthier lives. However, still too many children and young people continue to make unsafe and harmful choices with devastating effects on their health and wellbeing. The risk to children and young people from drugs, drinking and cyberbullying saw Life Education Australia launch the Millions of Choices Campaign. This $2 million campaign would provide hundreds of thousands of children across Australia with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, strategies and skills necessary to help them make safer and healthier choices. A compelling case for support was created to clearly show how funds from the campaign would make an impact.

The results

The campaign enjoyed early success with a $1 million contribution by the Australian Government. Life Education Australia then sought to strategically engage a select group of their most significant major donors, led by Campaign Chairman Christopher Mapp, to provide the remaining philanthropic support needed. The response was overwhelming with the $2 million campaign target being surpassed thanks to some of Australia’s most well know philanthropists including Dick and Pip Smith, Marcus and Caroline Blackmore, the Mapp family and Harry Triguboff.

The success of the Millions of Choices Campaign has ensured Life Education Australia can continue to support many more Australian children and young people in making safer and heathier choices.
